JV Raiders win grid battle with rival Northwest Whitfield

Behind Tyler Brown’s late 3-yard touchdown run and Pablo Rodgriguez’s two fourth-quarter interceptions, Southeast Whitfield’s junior varsity football team defeated Northwest Whitfield 20-17 Thursday at Raider Stadium.

Brown kicked off the scoring with a 32-yard touchdown run to give Southeast (4-2) a 7-0 lead. Jonathon Sanchez added the extra point and for Brown’s second score, along with a 68-yard punt.

Damien Manning then returned an interception 70 yards for a score to give Southeast a 13-0 lead.

However, the Bruins scored 17 straight points to take the lead, but Brown scored with around five minutes left.
