RINGGOLD —
Christian Heritage ended a two-game losing streak Friday with a 62-0 win against Sub-region 6A-A opponent Southwest Atlanta Christian.
The Lions led 14-0 after the first quarter, 48-0 at halftime and 55-0 after the third quarter in a blowout victory against a winless Warriors team. Christian Heritage (5-3, 2-2) held SAC (0-8, 0-4) to 36 yards of offense — 31 coming through the air — and the Lions defense collected four interceptions, two from Brian Pierce and one each from A.J. Hooper and Ian Robbins.
Trevor Brown went 7 of 12 passing for 138 yards and four touchdowns, three going to Nich Bartley. Austin Lowe had three touchdowns on 135 yards rushing, and Jake Stokes collected a touchdown run and 101 yards on the ground.
Christian Heritage was coming off losses to Gordon Lee, 20-7, and Darlington, 19-10.
“The last couple weeks we had a chance to win,” Christian Heritage coach Preston Poag said. “We were in both football games. I told them this week we’d play hard every single play regardless of the score, and we did. It was nice to see some players step up after a bye week.”
The win sets up an important game next week at home against Trion.
