James and Nancy Ross of Tunnel Hill announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Amy Ross to Jason Phillips both of Tunnel Hill. He is the son of Jennifer Phillips and Roger Young of Dalton.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of J.O. and Dot Thomas of Dalton and the late Leonard and Hattie Ross of Dalton. She is the sister of Judith Ross of Tunnel Hill.
Miss Ross obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Reinhardt College in Waleska, Ga and is currently working on her Master’s in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. She is currently a Media Clerk at Tunnel Hill Elementary.
The future groom is the grandson of Marvin Penson and the late Brenda Penson of Dalton and Bobby and Amy Phillips of Rocky Face. He is the brother of Tyler Phillips of Cohutta.
Mr. Phillips attended Dalton State College and West Georgia Technical in Lagrange, Ga. He is currently employed with the Whitfield County Fire Department as an Engineer.
The wedding is scheduled for September 10, 2011 at Dalton United Methodist Church at 5:00pm.
