LOVEJOY (AP) — Clayton County police have arrested a Riverdale man in connection with a triple shooting at a Waffle House restaurant in Lovejoy that injured three people.
Police said 21-year-old Deuntae Jones was arrested after a traffic stop following the incident.
Jones is charged with three counts of aggravated assault and other charges.
Restaurant workers told radio station WSB the incident occurred about 12:30 a.m. after a large group came into the restaurant. The employees said the group appeared to be upset and a fight quickly broke out and spilled into the parking lot when shots were fired.
Two victims were taken to a hospital from the restaurant and the third person ran to a nearby hotel and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
