OAKWOOD —
A new U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs clinic is scheduled to open soon in northeast Georgia.
The Times of Gainesville reports (http://bit.ly/Wvu07h) that work has finished on the 24,000-square-foot structure on Tanners Creek Drive in the Oakwood area, about 50 miles northeast of Atlanta.
The clinic is expected to open on June 1.
The Times reports that along with a population surge over the years, the Hall County area has seen a spike in the number of aging veterans who need care.
