EAST POINT —
Police say a 13-year-old is holding officers at bay in an Atlanta home after they say he stole a police car in nearby East Point.
Police said a SWAT team was at the scene late Wednesday morning. They say the police car was taken around 9 a.m. in East Point.
East Point police Lt. Cliff Chandler tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://bit.ly/Zmh7u1) that one of the department’s officers had arrested the boy, subdued him with a stun gun and placed him in the back of the patrol car. Chandler said the boy was able to somehow get from the back of the car into the front and drive off.
Police used a GPS device in the car to track it to the Atlanta address, where the standoff was ongoing early Wednesday afternoon.
