ROME, Ga. (AP) — Floyd County police say a gunman suspected in two shootings that left one man dead and another injured has surrendered.
Capt. Mark Wallace said 26-year-old Tim Spriggs is accused of getting into an altercation with a man who was shot and killed at a home Tuesday evening. Floyd County Deputy Coroner Ernie Studard identified the victim as 46-year-old John Gregory Davis.
Wallace said Spriggs later drove to a house occupied by a man, two women and a small infant and forced his way inside.
The man at that home was shot and wounded. Wallace said the women and child were not injured but were still taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Spriggs then fled through a wooded area. He was arrested around 6:15 p.m. and was being questioned by Floyd County police.
