Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin alerts consumers to the recall of some cookies that contain a milk ingredient not listed on the packaging label.
The Charleston Cookie Company, Charleston, SC is recalling packages of it almond cookies that are a component of the Dean & Deluca "Americana" cookie collection. The cookies contain butter, a milk product that is not listed on the packaging.
Those with allergies to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
The cookies are sold by catalog and online and come in a six-ounce, clear plastic package sold with five other flavors of cookies in a 36-ounce silver tin container. The product does not have a production code or UPC designation.
Those who have purchased the product may return it to place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions should call the Charleston Cookie Company at (843) 762-4185.
