ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — The University of Georgia marching band is dedicating its new practice field Thursday.
The Redcoat Marching Band will give a performance of its halftime show on the field during the 5:30 p.m. dedication ceremony.
It’s the first time the group has had its own practice space. The band had for years used the same practice field as the football team, which created scheduling headaches.
When not used by the band, the field can be used by students for intramural sports competitions.
