Commissioner of Agriculture Tommy Irvin is alerting Georgians to the recall of an ice cream that contains an ingredient not listed on the label.
Mars Snackfood US is recalling its Dove Caramel Pecan Perfection ice cream with the lot number 931AB5YN07 because it may contain peanuts without listing them on the ingredient label. The lot number is found on the bottom of the containers.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this ice cream. For those who do not suffer from a peanut allergy or sensitivity, it is safe to eat.
Dove Caramel Pecan Perfection is sold in a brown and gold 15.10 fl. oz. pint container and pictures a ribbon of caramel, pecans and a square of Dove Brand Chocolate on the front.
This recall is limited to one specific lot number (931AB5YN07). The recalled ice cream was distributed in the following states: Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin.
Consumers who have purchased this recalled ice cream may return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may call the company’s toll-free number: 1-800-551-0895 between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM Monday – Friday.
“Our Consumer Protection inspectors will be checking grocery store freezers to make sure the recalled ice cream is removed from sale,” said Commissioner Irvin.
