Gordon County Sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call of a gunshot wound victim around 1 p.m., Monday, June 11, to an I-75 rest area near Resaca, according to a press release from the Gordon County Sheriff's Office.
The body of 20-year-old Anthony Raymond Savelli, of Ohio, who died of "an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound," was found at the scene by sheriff's deputies, said the release.
Investigation collaborations between the Gordon County Sheriff's Office and the Gordon County coroner are still in the works.
According to the release, the body was seen by a passerby who contacted E911 services.
