Bibb County school board Oks leader’s new contract

MACON — One of Georgia’s largest school systems has voted to extend the contract of its superintendent.

The Telegraph of Macon repots (http://bit.ly/WGpVrW) that the Bibb County Board of Education on Monday night extended Superintendent Romain Dallemand’s contract.

The 5-3 vote means Dallemand’s new term will start Jan. 1, 2013, and end Dec. 31, 2015.

While Dallemand’s annual base pay remains the same, at $198,000 a year, the board approved some extra benefits. Dallemand will receive $70,000 for every year of service to the district when his contract expires or the contract is terminated by either party without cause.

Other perks include a $1 million life insurance policy, at least 25 days of vacation a year and an $800 monthly car allowance, double his current allowance.
