Christian Heritage JV sweeps in SE tourney

Evan Townsend finished with 19 points and Chase Tidwell added 11 as Christian Heritage rolled past Morris Innovative 51-21 in a boys basketball game in the Southeast Whitfield junior varsity tournament Friday night.

Tywon Townsend had 10 points to lead Morris Innovative in the season-opening game for both teams.

Ashlyn Clements led three Lady Lions in double figures as the girls matched the boys in a 47-13 victory over the host Lady Raiders’ freshman team. Clements finished with 14, Erin Leonard added 13 and Pressley Poag finished with 11.

The Southeast girls junior varsity team beat Boyd Buchanan 43-29, led by Sydney Covington’s 12 points.
