Lady Lions volleyball to get new head coach

Kim Parsons will not return in 2013 as head coach of Christian Heritage’s volleyball program.

Parsons, who coached the Lady Lions for three seasons and led the team into GHSA play this year, said it was her decision not to coach anymore. She is a community coach and not an employed teacher.

“I’m going to do other things and won’t be back coaching next year,” Parsons said while declining to give specifics of what she will be doing.

She said she made the decision after the season was finished. Christian Heritage finished 17-16 and missed out on the Class A playoffs. The Lady Lions reached the Georgia Independent School Association semifinals in 2011 and quarterfinals in 2010.

“They were a good group of girls, and I enjoyed working with them,” Parsons said.
