Prep Soccer: Late goal pushes JV Lady Raiders to win

Southeast Whitfield High School’s junior varsity girls soccer team picked up a 2-1 victory Wednesday night against visiting East Paulding.

Southeast, which improved to 2-1 with the win, took a 1-0 lead in the first half on Maria Quijano’s goal, but East Paulding responded with its own score after halftime.

The score remained tied until the final 10 minutes, when Southeast’s Brittany Sandoval notched the decisive goal.

Sydney Covington had five saves in goal for Southeast.
