Here are the notes and news items from the week in pro wrestling: The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) has a new movie, “Journey 2: Mysterious Island,” making its U.S. debut Feb. 10, but The Hollywood Reporter had an advanced screening.
The reviewer wrote Johnson displays an “affable goofiness” (I guess that’s a compliment?), but also believes “a menagerie of outsized fauna is royally upstaged by Dwayne Johnson’s dancing man-boobs.”
• The Big Show has a big back. So when he tweaks that big back — like he did during Tuesday night’s “Smackdown” television taping — it could spell bad news.
The severity of his injury isn’t known.
• The Huffington Post reported Hulk Hogan’s ex-wife, Linda Bollea, and her 23-year-old fiancé recently wrapped up filming for the VH1 reality show “Couples Therapy.”
The Local Corner: The TWA Action Zone presents “Revenge” on Saturday night, featuring the main event of Ray Fury vs. Da Bill in a baton on a pole/no holds barred title match.
In matches last Saturday night: Honor & Respect defeated The Playmakers in a tag title tournament match; The Green House topped Tiffany, Wandy da Wrestler and Ricochet; Da Bill outlasted Josh Vaughn with help from Toy Dodson; HCP 2.0 downed Spades and Robert Starr in tag action; Alex Summers and Will Force went to a no contest when HCP 2.0 attacked Summers; Ray Fury won by disqualification over Dodson after interference from Da Bill which lead to a locker room clearing brawl.
TWA Friday Night Brawl runs at 8 p.m. at the TWA Arena off Reed Road in north Whitfield County, about three miles north of the bypass. The TWA Action Zone runs at 8 p.m. on Saturdays. Tickets for all shows are $5 for adults and $3 for ages 6 to 12; senior citizens 60 years and older with proof of age will be admitted for $3. Kids younger than 6 are admitted free. Any military member with proper identification will be admitted free. If it’s your birthday, you will be admitted free.

NW’s Ramsey steps aside
Matt Hamilton/The Daily Citizen Northwest Whitfield catcher Bayli Cruse, right. talks with coach Shane Ramsey during a game in this file photo from last fall. Ramsey recently resigned as the school’s softball coach after three straight trips to the state playoffs and a fourth-place finish in 2011.
Northwest Whitfield’s softball team heads into next season with two of the most highly respected players in Georgia, and the Lady Bruins should be expected to contend for a state title.
