Entries are now being accepted for the 23rd annual Georgia Four-Ball Tournament, which takes place March 25-27, 2011, at Southern Hills Golf Club in Hawkinsville and Houston Lake Country Club in Perry. This Georgia State Golf Association event is open to two-man teams of male amateur golfers who are GSGA members, have a combined USGA Handicap Index of 4.0 or above and a maximum differential of six strokes.
The field will consist of 96 teams — 82 determined by lottery, three spots reserved for each host club and one spot reserved for each of the previous year’s flight winners. The format is 54 holes of flighted, four-ball stroke play.
Last year, Jack Benson of Roswell and Pete Malcolm of Duluth posted a birdie on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff to capture their second-straight Four-Ball Tournament title at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club and Valdosta Country Club.
Eligible players must enter online at gsga.org by clicking the Online Registration link. The deadline for entry is March 2.
