Chatsworth’s Chase Jones shot a second-day 78 to finish at 157 and tied for seventh place in the Georgia State Golf Association Sectional Challenge Match in Hawkinsville that wrapped up Wednesday.
Jones had the tournament’s longest drive at 319 yards.
Tyler Simpson, also of Chatsworth posted an 83 for 163 and a 12th-place tie in the boys 16-17 age group.
Another Chatsworth golfer, Colby Hipp shot a closing 81 for 160 and dropped into a tie for ninth place in the 14-15 division in the two-day tourney at Southern Hills Golf Club.
Dalton’s Davis Smith carded a 48 for 88 and placed 17th in the 11-and-under division, which played two nine-hole rounds.
