Northwest Whitfield’s Brien Bush intercepted two passes to set up touchdowns, quarterback Tyler Shepard tossed two scoring passes and the Bruins defeated Dalton, 33-7, Thursday in junior varsity football action in Tunnel Hill to remain unbeaten after six games.
Shepard got the Bruins’ scoring started with a 19-yard pass to Luke Woodason in the first quarter. After Bush’s first interception in the third quarter, Shepard hit Zach Sloan on a 60-yard scoring strike.
Bush’s second pick set up Lance Andrews’ 6-yard touchdown run.
Mason Woods scored on a 10-yard run and Mike Martin had a 10-yard TD run for the Bruins, who will host Woodland next Thursday in the JV Region 7-4A championship game at 5:30 p.m.
Juan Reyes kicked three extra points and Kokie Solarzano added one.
Will Kiker, who passed for 86 yards, tossed a 5-yard touchdown pass to Ben Wood for the lone Dalton (3-3) score. Julio Mora kicked the extra point.

Northwest Whitfield’s boys soccer team played in the region that produced this season’s Class 4A state champion, but Bruins coach Ryan Scoggins still got a favorable nod from his peers.
