Here are the notes and news items from the week in pro wrestling: Diamond Dallas Page may appear on episodes on WWE’s new YouTube channel.
• The Associated Press took down The Rock’s new movie, “Journey 2: Mysterious Island.”
“Dwayne Johnson steps in, and while he tries to yuck it up amid the nonstop action, he's just not a goofball on the order of (Brendan) Fraser, who somehow can make extreme silliness palatable with that big, simpering grin of his,” the reviewer wrote. “Johnson, on the other hand, merely simpers.”
• Whatever happened to ... The Road Warriors: One of the most feared tag teams of the 1980s and 1990s, Hawk and Animal used a bruising style to run roughshod over the sport. With their intimidating face paint, spiked shoulder pads and muscled-up physiques — attained by using steroids — they became the only duo to win the tag team titles in the AWA, NWA and WWF.
Animal (Joe Laurinaitis) is the brother of John Laurinaitis, WWE’s executive vice president of talent relations. Animal’s son, James Laurinaitis, plays for the NFL’s St. Louis Rams.
Hawk (Michael Hegstrand) died in October 2003 of an apparent heart attack.
The Local Corner: On Feb. 18, the TWA Action Zone presents the Bill Needham Memorial six-man tag team tournament.
In matches last Saturday night: Ray Fury defeated Will Force in a non-title bout; Da Bill topped Alex Summers; Joey Idol downed Skull; The Playmakers beat Tiffany and Ray Fury; Toy Dodson defeated Josh Vaughn to become the new Southern Champion
TWA Friday Night Brawl runs at 8 p.m. at the TWA Arena off Reed Road in north Whitfield County, about three miles north of the bypass. The TWA Action Zone runs at 8 p.m. on Saturdays. Tickets for all shows are $5 for adults and $3 for ages 6 to 12; senior citizens 60 years and older with proof of age will be admitted for $3. Kids younger than 6 are admitted free. Any military member with proper identification will be admitted free. If it’s your birthday, you will be admitted free.

(Misty Watson) For the past five years, Whitfield County middle schools, including Eastbrook and Westside, left, have competed in a league that doesn’t include Dalton. North Georgia Middle School Athletic League president Stan Stewart, Westside’s principal, believes it has resulted in a more even playing field for the league, which also includes Murray County’s Bagley and Gladden. But Dalton Middle officials say the situation has created lots of challenges for their school’s athletic teams, which must travel farther for away games, resulting in logistical, financial and academic difficulties. Both sides met last fall to discuss possible changes to the league.
On fall Friday nights, some of the area’s most anticipated high school football matchups occur when Dalton High takes on its rivals from another school system, Whitfield County’s Northwest and Southeast.
