Middle school roundup: Pendley’s big effort nets win

Ty Pendley poured in 37 points as North Whitfield’s eighth-grade boys basketball team picked up a 57-47 victory Monday at New Hope.

Christian Heritage eighth boys 33, Boyd Buchanan 30: Jonathan Lewallen had 12 points to lead the Lions (9-3) in a victory against their visitors from Chattanooga on Tuesday. Also for Christian Heritage, Tyson Cooper added seven points, John Whiteside six and Wil Jackson five.

Westside eighth boys 35, Gladden 17: Seth Hutchinson led all scorers with nine points and Jacob Asbury added six for the Rockets (11-1) as they closed the regular season with Monday’s win.

New Hope eighth girls 46, North Whitfield 26: Peyton Maret led the way with 14 points as the Lady Kodiaks (16-3, 12-0 North Georgia Middle School Athletic League) rolled to the win on Monday.

Lexi Storey added 12 points for New Hope, while Shelby Ralston had eight points and Madelyn Logan dished out six assists.

North Whitfield was led by Bethany Goodwin’s 11-point effort, and Sami Newsome chipped in six points.

Gladden eighth girls 39, Westside 26: Allie Davis had 12 points to steer the Lady Warriors (7-5) to Monday’s win at Westside, while Hannah Caldwell chipped in 10 points and Aubrie Osborne finished with nine.

Bagley eighth boys 46, Eastbrook 21: Jordan Adams had 14 points, 10 of them in the third quarter, to lead the Braves (6-6) to Monday’s win at home. Jordan Couch and Lucas Sexton each added nine points for Bagley.

Eastbrook eighth girls 26, Bagley 15: Alonda Bennett had six points for Bagley (2-10) in Monday’s road loss.

New Hope seventh girls 41, North Whitfield 11: Bria Clemmons’ 12-point effort paced the Lady Kodiaks (16-1, 12-0) to Monday’s win on the road.

Gabby Wright added 10 points, Kyle Ward had nine and Aubrey Young had five assists for New Hope.

Ashlee Cooper did all of the scoring for the Lady Pioneers.

Bagley seventh boys 39, Eastbrook 10: Blake Davis had 13 points to lead the Braves (6-6) to Monday’s win in Chatsworth. Brody Frazier added 11 points, all of them in the first quarter as the Braves sprinted to a 13-2 lead, while J.T. Langford had seven.

Westside seventh boys 33, Gladden 19: Alex Hooker led all scorers with 13 points and Paxton Pardee added eight as the Rockets (12-0) finished the regular season with a victory on Monday.

New Hope seventh boys 53, North Whitfield 33: Hayden Locke had 14 points as the Pioneers came up short on Monday.

Bagley seventh girls 25, Eastbrook 20: Katelyn Crumbley had 10 points to lead the Lady Braves (7-5) to victory on Monday at Eastbrook.
