Christian Heritage’s middle school football team won its third straight game to open the season by beating Chattanooga’s Our Lady of Perpetual Help 30-6 on Tuesday.
Devin Smith scored a pair of touchdowns to lead the host Lions, finding the end zone on a 73-yard punt return and a 51-yard run from scrimmage.
Chase Herndon added an 81-yard touchdown run and played a part in a pair of two-point conversions. He ran for one and caught the other from Tanner Gallman, who also ran for a two-point conversion.
Colton McCurdy added an 8-yard touchdown run for Christian Heritage.
• Dalton’s seventh-grade team topped Lake Forest of Cleveland, Tenn., 22-0 on Thursday at Harmon Field.
Cade Gabriel had a 27-yard touchdown, caught a 7-yard touchdown pass and a two-point conversion from Harrison Norman and intercepted a pass to lead the Cougars (2-0).
Noah Bartoo added a 19-yard touchdown run and J.P. Tighe picked off a pass and ran for a two-point conversion.
