Dalton golfer David Noll Jr. shared medalist honors with two other golfers, shooting 3-under-par 69 to qualify for the U.S. Mid-Amateur to be held in September at Atlantic Golf Club in Bridgehampton, N.Y.
Noll, the reigning Georgia State Golf Association Player of the Year, tied with Richie Taylor of Snellville and Herbie Sargent of Pelzer, S.C. to earn automatic bids on Monday. Eight golfers qualified for the Mid-Amateur after playing the Berkeley Hills County Club in Duluth.
The U.S. Mid-Amateur is open to amateur golfers over the age of 25 and will be played Sept. 25-30 with a starting field of 264 players.
