DALTON — The Whitfield County 11-12 girls all-stars lost to College Park, 42-28, Saturday in the Georgia Parks and Recreation Department state tournament championship game in Griffin.
Sydney Covington led Whitfield with eight points and Peyton Maret added seven.
Whitfield defeated Atlanta, 45-43, to reach the title game. Maret had a team-high 12 points, Lexi Storey seven, Mary Kate Allen and Covington six apiece and Presley Poag five.
In 9-10 play, Whitfield County lost to Griffin, 39-23. Hallie Brooker scored nine points and Bria Clemmons had six for Whitfield.
