Roadrunners coach to lead kids hoops camp

The Tony Ingle Basketball Camp for boys and girls in kindergarten through eighth grade will be held next Friday and Saturday in the Dalton Parks and Recreation Department’s John Davis Recreation Center at 904 Civic Drive.

Ingle, a Dalton native, is the head coach of Dalton State College’s men’s basketball team and a former Roadrunner who went on to coach Kennesaw State University’s men’s team to the NCAA Division II national championship in 2004.

“Campers will receive instruction from NCAA and NAIA college head coaches,” Ingle said, adding that participants will receive tips to help their shooting and passing games as well as agility and footwork, post work and guard work.

Kindergartners through second-graders will receive instruction from 9 a.m. to noon. Third-graders through eighth-graders will receive instruction from 1 to 4 p.m. Cost is $50, and each camper will receive a T-shirt and a basketball.
