The Georgia High School Association state basketball tournaments begin this weekend with Dalton’s boys playing at home, and North Murray’s boys taking to the road for the first round.
Dalton, the No. 2 seed from Region 7, will play host to Region 8 No. 3 seed Franklin County on Saturday at 5 p.m. in the Cats Den. The winner will advance to take on the winner of Region 5 No. 1 Columbia and Region 6 No. 4 Shaw on Feb. 29.
North Murray’s boys will travel to Jefferson for the opening round of the Class 2A tournament. The Mountaineers, the No. 3 seed from Region 7, will play the second-seeded Dragons from Region 8 at 7:30 p.m.
All tickets prices for the first round are $7 as set by the GHSA.
