Water polo: Dalton scores a win over Marist

The Dalton water polo team split a pair of games Saturday in Atlanta.

Dalton won 12-9 over Marist in the first match, paced by  Taylor Dale’s six goals and two assists.

Pierson Scarborough had two goals, and Luis Rosales had one goal and two assists. Josh Satterfield had two goals, and Taylor Mathis scored as well. Chris Kazmierski had seven saves in goal and Matthew Franey had three saves. Dalton had 34 shots for its first win in the dual meet season.

In the second game, Dalton lost to Southern Crescent 16-9. Dale had five goals and one assist, Scarborough had two goals, Mathis had one goal and Franey had one goal. Kazmierski had five saves and Franey had three saves. Dalton had 19 shots on goal.

Dalton now is 3-5 overall and 1-3 in dual meet contests. Its next games are Saturday at noon and 2 p.m. at the Dalton Recreation Department Pool against Lakeside-DeKalb’s A and B teams.
