Jamie Jones: Linda gets pinned in Senate bid

Here are the notes and news items from the world of pro wrestling: Don’t be surprised if you see Linda McMahon back on WWE programs. She was defeated Tuesday in her second failed U.S. Senate bid in Connecticut.

• Scott Steiner is suing TNA for injuries he received in a match with Jeff Hardy in November 2011. The artist known as “Big Poppa Pump” is seeking $1 million.

• “The Rock” (Dwayne Johnson) has been selected for the main role in the Paramount Pictures movie “Hercules.”

• Jerry Lawler plans to return to the announcing booth on the upcoming “Raw” episode. He has been sidelined since suffering an on-air heart attack on Sept. 10.



The Local Corner: Action continues at TWA.

TWA Friday Night Brawl runs at 8 p.m. at the TWA Arena off Reed Road in north Whitfield County, about three miles north of the bypass. The TWA Action Zone runs at 8 p.m. on Saturdays. Tickets for all shows are $5 for adults and $3 for ages 6 to 12; senior citizens 60 years and older with proof of age will be admitted for $3. Kids younger than 6 are admitted free. Any military member with proper identification will be admitted free. If it’s your birthday, you will be admitted free.
