Two local runners finished among the top 40 competitors at the Land Between the Lakes 50-mile trail run Saturday in Grand Rivers, Ky.
Cohutta’s Dee Goodwin, 45, completed the course in 8 hours, 43 minutes and 26 seconds. She finished 28th overall and fifth among females — the female champion was Melanie Peters of White Lake, Mich., who clocked a course record with her 6:59:27.
Chatsworth’s George Kopcsak, 50, finished in 9:13:36 and was 40th overall in a field of 123 runners.
Also, Chatsworth’s Belinda Young competed at the same event, running in the 60-kilometer (37.2 miles) race. Young, 43, finished in 7:28:57 and was 54th overall and fifth among females.
