Signal Mountain overpowers Dalton

The Dalton Dolphins lost to the Chattanooga Area Swim League’s top team, Signal Mountain, by a score of 457-358 on Monday at the Dalton Recreation Center.

The loss puts the Dolphins at 3-3 in the CASL’s top division. Signal Mountain improved to a perfect 6-0.

“We swam against a better team tonight,” Dolphins coach Charles Todd said. “I’m a pretty competitive person, and I hate to lose, but they were just much stronger than us. For the most part, we had pretty good swims, but they killed us in the relays, which is where most of the points are earned.”

Top scorers for the Dolphins were Jamey Fuller and Taylor Dale with 24 points, Ethan Young (16) Oscar Shenard, Ethan Pence and Joana Rosales (13), Ricardo Chavez (12), Stephen Jones (11), and Caroline Mathis, Alex Mashburn, Romina Mendoza, Rebecca Davis and Pierson Scarborough.

Fuller, Taylor Mathis and Dale won their diving competitions.
