Dolphins lose to Stuart Heights, fall to .500

A late surge in diving by Stuart Heights led to a 432-378 victory for the visitors against the Dalton Dolphins during Monday’s Chattanooga Area Swim League meet at the Dalton Recreation Center.

Dalton coach Charles Todd said his team led much of the meet, but Stuart Heights gained ground in diving near the end of the meet and the Dolphins lost points for some relay swimmers leaving early.

Alex Mashburn had 20 points, including some from diving, to lead the way for Dalton.

Other double-digit scorers for the Dolphins were Ethan Young (19 points); Chas Jones (18); Reese Bingham (17); Josephine Conley and Stephen Jones (15); Oscar Chenard, Emilio Valdez and Raul Valdez (14); Caroline Mathis, Tanner Storey and Rebecca Davis (13); Lindsey Mulkey, Taylor Mathis and Taylor Dale (12); and Romina Mendoza, Oli Valdez and Nineve Arriola (10).

The Dolphins, who fell to 2-2 in CASL Division 1 action this summer, host Cleveland at 5:30 p.m. next Monday.
