All three local youth baseball teams were eliminated from the Dixie Majors state tournament at Edwards Park on Saturday.
In Blue Bracket games in the 11-12 tourney that runs through July 23, Albany American defeated Dalton, 2-0, and Newton County beat Whitfield National, 3-2. J.R. Laird went 2-for-3 for the Nationals.
In a Red Bracket contest, Augusta West rolled past Whitfield American, 20-4. Brandon Willis was 2-for-2 for Whitfield.
Also, Duluth beat Wrens, 13-6, Troup American beat Albany Inter-national, 4-1, Gray-son knocked off Auburn, 8-5, Troup National got past Peachtree Ridge, 13-1.
Troup National player Jake Farrah won the home run derby, hitting six over the 200-foot fence.
