Area arrests

• Deriek Thomas Bryson, 23, 1925 Frankie Drive, Dalton, was charged Sunday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with theft by taking.

• Mario Daniel Chavez-Hernandez, 24, 171 S. Springs Road, Chatsworth, was charged Sunday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, DUI, possession of drug-related objects, an open container violation and driving without a valid license. He was placed on hold at the Whitfield County jail by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

• Cesily Ryan Ramirez, 25, 140 Bahamas Drive, Chatsworth, was charged Sunday by the Georgia State Patrol with giving a false name or information, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of meth, possession of tools for the commission of crime, driving while license is suspended or revoked and DUI.

• Michael Ryan Smith, 26, 1332 Tunnel Hill-Varnell Road, Dalton, was charged Sunday by the Georgia State Patrol with DUI and failure to maintain lane.

• Lana Breanne Claypole, 33, 419 E. Brady St., Butler, Pa., was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• Candy Leeanne Pike, 38, 215 Hester Circle, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of meth.
