New York man killed in Dalton when struck by car

Dalton Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating a motor vehicle crash that claimed the life of 25-year-old Timothy Parker from Jamesville, N.Y.

The crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian occurred at 6:19 this morning on Chattanooga Road, just north of North Tibbs Road. The driver of the vehicle, 61-year-old Johnny Montgomery from Rocky Face, was traveling south on Chattanooga Road when he struck Parker. A witness told officers that Parker was attempting to cross Chattanooga Road from the Baymont Inn to the BP gas station at the corner of Chattanooga Road and North Tibbs Road when he was struck. It was dark and Parker was wearing dark clothing at the time. Parker was taken to Hamilton Medical Center where he died. Montgomery was not injured.   

The crash is still under investigation.
