Area arrests

• Jerrel Christopher Adams, 23, 504 Hobart Lane, LaFayette, was charged Sunday by the U.S. Forestry Service with sale, distribution or possession of dangerous drugs.

• Bobby Lynn Merrell, 21, 1306 Underwood St.-8, Dalton, was charged Sunday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with felony probation violation and being a pedestrian under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• Donald Ray Payne, 41, 5497 Board Town Road, Ellijay, was charged Sunday by the Chatsworth Police Department with possession of tools for the commission of a crime and purchase, possession or control of methamphetamine.

• Douglas Arnold Higgins, 49, 2933 S. Riverbend Road, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with aggravated stalking and aggravated assault (other weapon).
