Area arrests

• Billy Marshall Thomas Jr., 44, 1018 Dude St., Dalton, was charged Aug. 19 by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with felony probation violation (financial identity fraud).

• Curtis Lamar Betterton, 28, 69 Robbie Lane, Chatsworth, was charged Friday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with felony probation violation.

• Kevin Scott Rose, 40, 292 Waring Road, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with felony probation violation (violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act/methamphetamine).

• Brian Keith Smith, 36, 1311 Old Dalton Ellijay Road, Chatsworth, was charged Sunday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with obstruction of an officer (four counts), possession of clonipin, possession of xanax, drugs in wrong container and theft by receiving stolen property.

• Joshua Lee Brummitt, 20, 820 Shugart Road, Apt. B-12, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Chatsworth Police Department with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• Bryan Dale Langham, 21, 391 Mitchell Bridge Road, Chatsworth, was charged Monday by the Chatsworth Police Department with failure to maintain lane and DUI (second offense).
