Area arrests

Dalton Daily Citizen

• Wanda Jenkins, 56, 131 Fox Place, Canton, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act (obtaining a controlled substance by fraudulent means).

• Omar Jimenez-Lopez, 29, 5105 Old Dalton Cleveland Highway, No. 5, Cohutta, was charged Thursday by the Cohutta Police Department with DUI and driving without a valid license.

• Thomas Matthew Peterson, 26, 224 Roberts Drive, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with aggravated stalking.

• Michael Alve Powers, 37, 1629 Cherokee Valley Road, Ringgold, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with felony theft by taking.

• Taunetta Peck, 32, 109 Ray Peck Road, Frenchburg, Ky., was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with being a fugitive from justice.
