Area arrests

• Margaret Ann Amenita, 38, 402 Old Apison Road, Cohutta, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with trafficking meth, sale of meth, possession of meth, contempt of Superior Court and possession of tools for the commission of crime.

• Layla Nicole Jump, 19, 104 Sunray Drive, Apartment 3, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of meth; illegal sale, distribution or possession of dangerous drugs; and criminal trespass.

• James Harold Leamon, 54, 412 Old Apison Road, Cohutta, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with trafficking meth, possession of meth and possession of tools for the commission of crime.

• Courtney Cordia Weaver, 21, 1308 Dawnville Road, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of meth and possession of drug-related objects.

• Dustin Clell Frazer, 27, 3370 Highway 411, Crandall, was charged Wednesday by the Eton Police Department with giving false information or name to law enforcement and theft by receiving stolen property.

• Earnest Kendall McDonald, 50, 64 Lyons Drive-110, Rome, was charged Wednesday by the Georgia State Patrol with DUI, failure to maintain lane and failure to change address or name within 60 days of moving.
