Area arrests

• James Wesley Forester Jr., 21, 3902 Old Field Road, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with battery (family violence, first offense) and felony interference with government property.

• Wesley John Ray Jr., 27, 1030 Willowdale Road-3, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with drugs not in original container, sale of or intent to sell marijuana, possession of a schedule 3/4/5/ substance to distribute, possession of a schedule 1/2 substance to distribute, possession and use of drug-related objects and possession to distribute a non-controlled substance.

• Rigoberto Rodriguez-Ortiz, 33, 275 Adams Ave., Cedartown, was placed on hold Monday at the Whitfield County jail by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
