Despite the heat, the 13th annual Spring Place Community Festival was a success and we thank you for your support.
Whether you volunteered your time, made cakes to sell, brought stuff for the flea market, donated items for the auction, helped with publicity, spent your money — or all of the above — we greatly appreciate your generous assistance. We again netted more than $4,000 which will allow us to maintain the Old Methodist Church another year. Some of you have been at all our festivals and we hope you are with us for many more. We are fortunate to have the help of so many.
Several folks commented that having the Relay for Life the night before reduced participation at the festival. We’ve already been told that the events won’t be on the same weekend next year.
Again, many thanks.

Secretary, Spring Place Ruritan Club

An overreaction to Dalton’s senior prank
We wish the story about a senior prank by Dalton High School students gone awry had never made it into the newspaper.
