I would like to extend a huge thank you to all the residents of Murray County who supported me and helped with my race for the Board of Education District 6 seat. So many people rallied behind me by putting signs in their yards, or asking their family and friends to vote for me.
Thank you also for your encouragement. The residents of Murray County are wonderful and it has been a privilege to serve the students as well as the educational staff and community. Murray County is blessed with an awesome school system staff and I want them to know I appreciate them all.
I would also like to thank the most dedicated superintendent I’ve ever known, Vickie Reed. Thank you, Dr. Reed, for all your long hours, sleepless nights and all the many thankless duties you’ve performed just because serving students is what you love. Thanks again to my fellow BOE members. Since I was appointed to the board, you guys have been patient and supportive and I look forward to continuing our work. You all are the best.
And lastly, I’d like to thank my wife and children for being so understanding of the times that I was away while doing BOE duties. Thanks also for just listening. You guys are the greatest.
In closing, I would like to ask the residents of Murray County to please support the BOE and the school system to the best of their abilities. We have had difficult times this past year and those times call for our community to come together and work to go forward. Get involved and encourage others to do so as well.
In the end, it’s all about the students and everything else will fall into place if we put them first.

Letter: Obama's position is contrary to the Bible
I was very saddened to hear of President Obama supporting same sex marriage. I am not going to judge President Obama, that is God’s job. But, as a Christian, what he is doing is contrary to what the Bible says concerning homosexuality.
