I choose to respond to the writer who so criticized me concerning my recent letter about the future of this country should Obama win re-election. Like all liberals, the writer chose to attack me personally rather than defend Obama. That’s right out of the Alinsky playbook.
Eventually, the writer concluded that it is Obama’s “task ... to get us out of this mess.” I suppose by “mess,” the writer meant the horrible world Obama inherited after years and years of awful Republican leadership.
In his four years in office, here is a partial list of what Obama has done to “get us out of this mess:”
1) Passed the stimulus bill, a near trillion dollar debacle which stimulated nothing. In reality it became a slush fund for Obama, so he could, among other things, buy votes for the so-called Affordable Health Care Act.
2) Passed Obamacare through a backdoor trick called reconciliation. And, we’ve only scratched the surface of the horrors contained in this monstrosity of a bill.
3) Sat idly by during the entire BP Gulf oil disaster, all the while refusing help from countries which had the technology to help clean up the spill.
4) Thrown away billions of dollars on Solyndra and other failed green energy projects, Obama’s real mission being to repay people who contributed to his campaign and to paint himself as the Green president.
5) Refused to approve the Keystone Pipeline project which would have created tens of thousands of jobs and started to bring the cost of gasoline down. If Obama is re-elected, you will remember today’s price of $4 a gallon as the good old days.
6) Insisted that the Department of Justice not enforce certain immigration laws, a blatant violation of his oath of office.
7) Taken total credit for having bin Laden killed, recent disclosures showing that Obama was an extremely reluctant participant in the final decision making. Yet every sentence he utters about the killing is littered with nauseating references to “me, myself and I.”
8) Done next to nothing to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons with which to destroy Israel. Oh yeah, a sanction here and a sanction there between vacations.
9) Run the national debt up to $16 trillion. That’s $50,000 per person.
Yes indeed, we are all very grateful to President Obama for all he’s done.

Letter: A Father’s Day tribute
There is some question as to whether the first Father’s Day was started in the U.S. by Dr. Welch in 1908 or by Sonora Dodd on June 19, 1910. In 1924 President Coolidge proclaimed the third Sunday in June as a national memorial for Father’s Day.
