Election time brings anticipation which can quickly turn to doubt as we realize the importance of our vote. Choosing the right candidate is so important because the decisions of those we elect impact each one of us.
We are concerned about the outcome of each race, but because of our combined 70-plus years working in education, the Whitfield County Board of Education race is of special concern to us. We support Tony Stanley 100 percent for the at large seat.
About 17 years ago we saw Tony’s true character when he came to our home to seek our blessings as he asked for the hand of our daughter Suzanna in marriage. Through the years we have found Tony to be true to his word. He is honest, trustworthy, and his integrity is unquestionable. He is solid and caring. Anytime there is a decision to be made he investigates thoroughly so he can make informed decisions.
Since we have seen these characteristics in all aspects of his life, we are certain Tony will bring these skills to the Whitfield County Board of Education. His platform is simple. He wants to do what he can for the kids in Whitfield County.
As he asked for our blessings 17 years ago, we join Tony now in asking for your vote for the at large seat on the Whitfield County Board of Education on Aug. 10.
Respectfully,
Bill and Linda Russell

Editorial: Should all senior pranks be nixed?
The senior prank can be called a traditional rite of passage for soon-to-be graduates, or it can be a destructive action that deserves to be nipped in the bud and the perpetrators punished.
