To the Whitfield County Board of Education, City of Dalton Board of Education, Superintendents Danny Hayes and Jim Hawkins, Athletic Directors Brett Harper and Ron Ward, and Principals Britt Adams and Debbie Freeman.
On behalf of the Northwest Whitfield High School swim team, we would like to thank the members of both boards and administrations for the opportunity to train at the Dalton High School pool for the 2011-2012 season. As you might recall, NWHS swim team enjoyed training three years in the pool at Bandy Gymnasium until Dalton State College closed its pool in the spring of 2011. Both administrations worked diligently to come up with an agreement so NWHS swim team could train after hours at the DHS pool. Over 50 students joined the swim team in October 2011 and we have enjoyed our most successful season to date.
We would like to take the opportunity to invite you to our next swim meet at the DHS pool on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 6 p.m. when both teams honor their graduating senior swimmers, a special night indeed.
We believe this spirit of collaboration and cooperation demonstrates to our students that this community puts the needs of their students first and foremost. This needs to continue!

Editorial: Should all senior pranks be nixed?
The senior prank can be called a traditional rite of passage for soon-to-be graduates, or it can be a destructive action that deserves to be nipped in the bud and the perpetrators punished.
