Sarah Morgan Riggs



Mrs. Sarah Morgan Riggs, 83 of Chatsworth and formerly of Lafollette, Tenn., went to be with the Lord Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Leon Riggs.

She is survived by her children, Ralph and Jewell Riggs, of Morristown, Tenn., Alma and Jim Stevens of Lafollette, Tenn., Edward and Carolyn Riggs, of Morganton, N.C., Frances and Cecil Noe of Oakdale, Tenn., Judy and Harold Mullis of Chatsworth, Fred Riggs of Knoxville, Tenn., Darrell and Faye Riggs of Duffield, Va., Harold Riggs and Ray Beam of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandchildren, Connie, Terrsa and Casandra Riggs, Jimmy Stevens II and Tammy Harmon, Stacy Suttles, Jonathan Riggs, Lisa Riggs, Timothy and Scottie Noe, Sarah Smith, William Ayers, Jason Mullis, Joseph Riggs, Jackie Riggs, Ashley Riggs, Richard and Travis Riggs; 23 great-grandchildren.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Sarah Morgan Riggs will be today at 5 p.m. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Caldwell and Pastor Tommy Jenkins officiating.

She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in the Campbell Memorial Gardens in Lafollette, Tenn., on Monday at 3 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Brence Smith, Jacob Smith, Benjamin Smith, William and Cody Ayers, Timothy Noe, Scottie Noe, Jimmy Stevens II and special great-grandchild, Rachel Smith and special friend, Nancy Meyers.

The family will receive friends at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home after noon today until the funeral hour.
