Walter Dewey Edgeman

Walter Dewey Edgeman, 88, of Dalton, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at Wood Dale Health Care Center.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, one sister; parents; great-grandson, Kevin Lassetter.

He was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Mabel Edgeman of Dalton; daughters and sons-in-law, Juanita and D.L. Ogle of Chatsworth, Betty and Edward Foster and Mary and Jimmy Ray, all of Dalton, Lavon and Gerald Foust of Hiram; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Doris Edgeman and Johnny and JoAnn Edgeman, all of Dalton; sisters, Jewell Hash of Ringgold, Grace Korman of Des Plains, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Brother Tony Roberson officiating.

Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Pallbearers serving will be: Dwayne Ray, Marc Holmes, Dewey Conner, LaDarren Edgeman, John Langham and David Stokes.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. Messages of comfort may be sent and the guest register signed at www.julianpeeples.com.
