Robert J. ‘Junior’ Denton



Mr. Robert J. “Junior” Denton, 66, of Chatsworth, passed away peacefully at Murray Medical Center, Thursday, Dec.10, 2009, surrounded by his loving family.

Junior was born January 24,1943, in Murray County, a son of the late Charles and Lela Rose Bramlette Denton, he was also preceded in death by his sister Shirley Welch and brother Buddy Denton.

Junior proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran.

Junior is survived by his daughter, Robin Denton, Chatsworth, son and daughter-in-law Richard and Alice Denton, Chatsworth; a sister and brother-in-law, Nellie and L.D. Griggs, Dalton; brothers, Hobert Denton, Missouri, and Artie Denton, Dalton; grandchildren, Roland Denton, Chatsworth, Megan Denton, Ranger, and Lela Sexton, Paulding County. He leaves behind his loving animals, Lady, Pee Wee, Jackee, Lulu and Poo Poo.

Services to celebrate the live of Mr. Denton were Saturday, Dec. 12, at 2:30 at Ponders Funeral Home Chapel. The family received friends Saturda at Ponders Funeral Home.

The family wishes special thanks to Murray Medical Center staff, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Claxton, Mr. Michael Crook, Heart Lite Hospice, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Butler and Mr. and Mrs. Jason Garner.
