William G. Massingill

Mr. William G. Massingill, age 72, of the Dawnville community, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Bennett Massingill; parents, John and Susie Massingill; sister, Frances Massingill; brother, Aaron Massingill; and a son-in-law, Albert Dalton.

Mr. Massingill was a member of Welcome Valley Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Clay Plott of Dawnville, and Cathy and Edwin Smith of Chatsworth; special granddaughter-to-be, Brittany Mulkey of Dalton; sister-in-law, Harveyleen Rollins; grandchildren, Jason Dalton of Dawnville, Daniel and Denise Smith of Eton, Nathan Smith of Chatsworth; great-grandchild, Baby Smith; nieces, Tammy Witherow and Penny Massingill; special cousin, Christine Bledsoe.

The funeral is Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Jonathan Padgett and the Rev. Lamar Payne.

Pallbearers will be Jason Dalton, Daniel Smith, Nathan Smith, Clay Plott, Brian Smith and Jason Parker.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday after 4 p.m.

Burial will be in Grove Level Cemetery
