Randal Lee Dills

Mr. Randal Lee Dills, 52, of Rocky Face, passed away peacefully at Hamilton Medical Center, Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, surrounded by his loving family.

Randal was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Don and Betty H. Parsons, and maternal grandparents, Frank H. and Rose S. Head.

Randal proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, and spent most of his tour of duty stationed in Berlin, Germany.

Randal is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Randy Lee Dills and wife, Karen, of Tunnel Hill; daughters, Holli Ann Dills of Rocky Face and Nicole Adriana Dills of Calhoun; brother, Gregg A. Dills of Rocky Face; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margie and Bob Painter of Dalton, Donna and Brian Southerland of Henderson, Texas; Ruthie and David Hawkins and Rhonda and Brad Bilbro, all of Rocky Face; granddaughters, Cheyenne Brooke Hall and Kaylee Michelle Dills; nephews and their spouses: Bobby and Candace Painter of LaFayette and Gregg A. Dills II and Michelle of Virginia Beach, Va., and Garrett River Massingill of Dalton; niece and her spouse, Cassie and Garett Hammontree of Dalton and Isabella Rose Southerland of Henderson, Texas; two special friends he considered his honorary parents, George and Joyce Fussell.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Randal Lee Dills are Friday at 2 p.m. from the Melrose chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Hocker officiating.

Randal will be laid to rest at The Whitfield Memorial Gardens. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Wayne Neal, Tommy Holcomb, Jerry Townsend, Randal Elrod, Larry Bryant and Greg Painter. Military graveside honors will be provided by Dalton American Legion Post 112.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Funeral Home Friday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at 2 p.m.
