Transito Garcia-Garcia

Mr. Transito Garcia-Garcia, 30 of Dalton, departed this life on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, from a boating accident on the Tennessee River at the Nickajack Dam.

Transito was born Aug. 13, 1979, in Guatemala, a son of the late Esteban Garcia and Catarina Garcia Cojo. Transito worked at Lady Madison.

He is survived by his companion, Esperanza Hernandez-Martinez; brothers, Rena Garcia-Garcia of Dalton, Abelino Garcia-Garcia; sisters, Reginalda Garcia-Garcia and Victoria Garcia-Garcia, all of Guatemala.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Juan Te Dios Oliveros officiating. Close friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m.
